Rotary Club of Miami:

Miami-Dade County’s oldest and most prominent service organization.

Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world. Paul P. Harris the founder of Rotary organized the first Rotary Club in Chicago, Illinois in 1905. 

Rotary Club of Miami was organized December 1, 1916 and Chartered on March 1, 1917.
The first Club President was Dr. James M. Jackson (Jackson Memorial Hospital).
The Rotary Club of Miami is the oldest club in the State of  Florida and the second largest.

Chartered on March 1, 1917, the history of the Rotary Club of Miami is closely interwoven with the history of our community itself. Our founding president was Dr. James Jackson, for whom Jackson Memorial Hospital was named.
Since its inception, the Rotary Club of Miami has supported hundreds of charities and touched thousands of people through its many committees and programs.
